Memorial Morning Mist
For some odd reason, I just woke up at 5:20 this the morning. That almost NEVER happens! I sleep the heaviest in the morning, and just waking up like that..... well..... that almost never happens. I took a peek outside and just thought the field looked beautiful in the early morning mist. I decided to go enjoy it first hand. I totally had a Pride & Prejudice moment.... the kind at the end of the movie when the love birds were walking in the early morning misty field. Except my love bird at that moment was Sydney.... haha. I soaked it in a bit and then I got tired... so I went back to bed :) But it was beautiful! I'm glad I just woke up...

Park City
My mom had a time-share that was about to expire, and so last minute, we planned a week long trip to Park City-Utah. I brought Cooper (while Cam was in Cali for work), and my mom brought my nephew John (while my sister studied for finals). We had a plan to relax and visit with some good friends. This is how the week went....
Sunday:
Cooper's first airplane ride! John was an expert at it. They did very well! It helped that it was such an open flight, we each had our own row. This was helpful because Cooper does not like to sit still.... he went back and forth between the two rows most of the flight.
We stayed in a two room suite at the Westgate Park City Resort & Spa. It's a beautiful 5 star joint and I didn't have much to complain about.... except for the insanely outrageous internet fees. However, the steam shower was su-weeeeeet!!!!! It got so steamy, I couldn't even see the shower head.... and in the privacy of my own room.
Monday:
After an afternoon of eating pizza at Red Banjo and exploring Main Street (for as long as the little ones could handle it), we headed on over to the home of a special little girl for dinner and a visit. Morgan got to meet John for the first time. And it was great catching up with her parents, who are still as awesome as I remember :)
This little girl is very clever and mature for her age. And she loves to pose for a camera.... which is perfect, because I love to take way too many pictures.
We had lots of fun playing jump rope and chasing each other around the house, playing screaming peek-a-boo!
*beautiful*
Tuesday:
On this day, I went back to historic Main Street (by myself) to do what I love.....
...TAKE PICTURES!
(a spiffy barn on the way to Main St)
Shoe Tree..... need I say more?
again.... need I say more :)
Wednesday:
I was super SUPER excited to hang out with an oldie & goodie friend, Marisa! It had been waaaaaaaaaaay too long! But it was great, because we seemed to pick up right where we left off. Those comfortable and trusting friendships are the best!!!
We had lunch at Biaggio's and then shopped around Gateway Mall in downtown Salt Lake City. Besides the obvious fun, we also had some much needed one-on-one conversation (over her first cup of chai tea......yes, I think I hooked another... hehe)
*silly girls with silly hats*
This was my favorite store that day.... met some cool people who worked there. I simply asked.... "Who is singing that song?" Out of nowhere, a couple people went on and on very passionately about the music from an album they sold (which was playing overhead). The 2 disc album is called Dark Was the Night, and it's an accompilation of music from several artists (which also benefits The Red Hot Organization for AIDS). They were definately my kind of people..... that is, people who love music and love to share it with other people. Coulda been the start of a beautiful friendship, if only I didn't live on the other side of the Rockies. Anyway, they convinced me to get the album and it's awesome!
By the time we finally parted :( ....
I was driving back to the resort when I decided to exit for a quick soda-pick-me-up. I was parched. Well....... apparently they were doing lots of on-ramp construction and I was sent on a crazy long detour. I didn't mind though.... it was a beautiful windows-down-kind-of-day, I had new music to listen to, and I got this shot from my car window.....
Thursday:
took this pic
*found parked in a parking garage*
(yes, I need a hobby from my hobby)
no, this was not our rental :P
but crazy fun, eh?
Friday:
Solution to 'parting is such sweet sorrow'.....
Girls Night Out!!!
We decided we needed to hang out some more :)
She came up to Park City this time. Little did we know that due to the off-season, most restaurants were closed. We kept being sent further up Main Street and finally stumbled into a charming little French Bistro. It was exactly what we were looking for..... special dinner for a special occasion with a special friend. It was delish!!!! and beautiful!!!! and down-right cozy sweetness!!!!
Afterward, we went and played pool at the only other place open.....
We met some Orem locals, Josh and Brad, who came up to Park City to go dancing at Harryo's. Supposively, it's the hippest club in Utah. But guess what..... it was closed... (haha- go figure).
So they played pool, too :)
Well...... O'Shucks is right. The party in Park City had to come to an end :(
Btw, funny story.... Marisa's husband's brother n' family were coincidently staying on the same floor of the same desolate lodge at the same time as us. They also had an almost expired time-share. So after waking hubby from his night of brother bonding, Marisa and I and he gabbed for awhile longer and finally parted.... again :(
I'll miss you girlie
We returned home Saturday
