My Family was sick with the stomach flu the first time we had Cooper's birthday party, so they weren't able to make it. They really wanted to be apart of this mile-stone, so they came up to celebrate his birthday AGAIN!!! It was awesome!

Last night, Cameron was planning a visit to his friend's place in Denver to stay the night and play video games....you know, boy stuff. He offered to take Cooper with him so that I could have a night off. I did not refuse! I was due for me-time, anyway. It's been so hectic lately with the holidays and parties for every occasion, that I was really excited to have a night out with myself. I love my alone time. This is what I did....... I started out by taking Sydney on a long walk. Then I went to Panera for dinner and sat by their fireplace....table for one. I took my time eating....and thinking. Then I went to Barnes & Noble....browsed the books, grabbed an extra hot chai and sat down on a comfy sofa. I spent most of my time there skimming thru a photography book. After that, I went to the movie theater....one of my favorite things to do when i'm by myself. I grabbed the late showing of Seven Pounds, some junk food, and sat in my favorite spot....the last row, off to the side where the bar is. It was an excellent movie!!! Just the kind I like to see alone. It was a great relaxing night....my kind of fun! So, thanks Cameron....I needed that!

Cooper's 1st Birthday Party

I turned 1 year old today! My family and friends came to celebrate my birthday. We ate pizza and cake and icecream. My mom was proud that I only needed a little help unwrapping my presents. I got lots of fun books and my grandma Sue spoiled me with lots of toys, like my new little tikes basketball hoop! I'm not quite tall enough for it yet, but the grown-ups sure loved playing with it!!!! I loved all my presents, but I wasn't so sure about my birthday cake. It was sticky on my fingers and I was really confused why everyone was standing around me....staring....hoping I would do something. To be honest, I was more interested in this really cool blue balloon. I tried to stay up late and enjoy the party, but man..... I was tiiiiired. I mean, golly....it was rounding 7 pm!!!! The grown-ups partied a little longer, though. They probably played with my new basketball hoop. Who would blame them....it's the coolest toy ever! Thank you everyone for coming to my party and for my awesome presents. So far, it's my favorite birthday ever!

...this time last year

Cooper was born at 1:11 AM this day, one year ago. Last night, as the clock was rolling around to that time, I was lying wide awake in bed having a sentimental moment. I couldn't believe 1 year had gone by so fast. As I watched the clock hit 1:11, I tried really hard not to remember "the process" of it all, and instead focused on the memory of the first moment I heard Cooper cry. I closed my eyes tight, and rememberd the happy/tearful/giddy/laughing/overly-drugged-up feeling I had when Cooper was removed from my belly and he cried for the first time. I opened my eyes, and walked into his room to stroke back his hair and wish him a happy birthday. I held him for a little while as he put his head on my shoulder. With his binky in his mouth and his adorable glazed-over tired eyes, I gave him an eskimo kiss and told him to not grow up too fast. I soaked up that moment in his barely lit room and in the wee hour of the quiet night....*sigh*..........and then I changed his poopy diaper...haha.

Congratulations to Chas and Erin, as they were married this day! The Chateau was divine!

A Saucy New Years...

Originally Cam and I were going to go to downtown Denver with some friends for dinner and New Year's fireworks, but then last minute, we changed our minds (not wanting to be out in the cold and drive with drunk crazies on the road) and spent New Years with our friends in the Fort. Cameron's best friend, Kurt, threw a party. Kurt's girlfriend, Taryn, made the most delicious food to include fortune cookies, stuffed mushrooms and candied cashews (all from scratch). We brought the chocolate fountain.... cuz what would a party be without it?!!!?! Meanwhile, Cooper slept upstairs. I don't know how, with all the noise we made......but he was out. It was a blast! There were too many awesome pictures taken to just post a few....so, this is a long one. Enjoy!
This picture is GREAT! You have Kelsey letting out a HUGE and obnoxiously LOUD BURP.... Tim horrified, Amy protecting him.....Kurt is like "yeah!", Taryn is just hilarious....I'm like "what the?", and Cam is proud of his little brother whom he's taught well. Hehe
